Prof. Youfu Li（ IEEE Fellow ）

Biography: Dr Li received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology China. He obtained the PhD degree from the Robotics Research Group, Dept of Engineering Science  of the University of Oxford in 1993. From 1993 to 1995 he was a postdoctoral research staff in the Dept of Computer Science, University of Wales, Aberystwyth, UK. He joined City University of Hong Kong in 1995 and is currently a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. His research interests include robot sensing, robot vision, 3D vision, visual tracking, sensor guided manipulation, mechatronics and automation. In these areas, he has published over 180 papers in SCI listed international journals. Dr Li has received many awards in robot sensing and vision including IEEESensors Journal Best Paper Awardby IEEESensors Council, Second Prize of Natural Science Research Award by the Ministry of Education, 1st Prize of Natural Science Research Award of Hubei Province, 1st Prize of Natural Science Research Award of Zhejiang Province, China. He was on Top 2% of the world’s most highly cited scientists by Stanford University, 2020. He has served as an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering (T-ASE), Associate Editor of IEEE  Robotics and Automation Magazine (RAM), Editor of the IEEE Robotics Automation Society's Conference Editorial Board (CEB) and Guest Editor of IEEE  Robotics and Automation Magazine (RAM). He is a fellow of IEEE.

National Foundation Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology project review expert, "Modern Manufacturing Engineering" editorial board. Long-term commitment to major equipment, structural optimization, plastic forming technology, micro forming and control, laser forming new technology research. In 2003, he graduated from the School of Mechanical Engineering of Yanshan University and obtained a doctor's degree. In 2004, he was introduced to Jiangsu University as a senior talent to teach in the Department of Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering. In 2006, he entered the postdoctoral mobile station of Mechanical Engineering of Jiangsu University.

He presided over 3 national funds, 10 provincial and ministerial projects such as Jiangsu Province science and technology support and Jiangsu Province achievement transformation. 30 invention patents were authorized and 4 PCT patents were applied for. It has won more than 10 provincial awards such as the first Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, the Gold Medal of China Patent, the first prize of China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Progress Award, and the second Prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Education. He won the second prize of teaching achievements in Jiangsu Province and the special prize of teaching achievements in Jiangsu University, and presided over 3 teaching reform projects. EI/SCI has included more than 70 papers, authored 1 monograph, edited 5 textbooks and participated in editing 2.

Biography: Professor of Anhui University, doctoral supervisor, IEEE senior member, Executive deputy director of "Anhui Human-Machine Integration System and Intelligent Equipment Engineering Laboratory", automation technology consultant for many government agencies and high-tech enterprises, former senior researcher of Singapore Agency for Science and Technology Research (ASTAR). His main research areas are precision mechanisms and micro-assembly systems for chip manufacturing, smart robot grasping, collaborative robot integration operation, assisted exoskeleton and snake robot. He is leading the team to focus on the cross-integration innovation technology of mechanism, drive, perception and control in the above fields for national strategic needs. He has presided over and participated in 5 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation and more than 10 other robot operation and assembly projects funded by the government and industry. He has published more than 100 high-level academic papers and has more than 20 authorized invention patents.
